Protests against Gaddafi in Venezuela. Is Chavez next?

Our editor, Ambassador Diego Arria, took part in a protest held in Caracas against the dictatorship of Muammar Gaddafi in Libya. Mr. Arria is world known for his firm stance against war crimes and genocide. As an Ambassador to the United Nations and then the President of the UN Security Council, he was among the original creators of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia and he is actively advocating for the prosecution of bloody dictators, including Gaddafi and Hugo Chavez, by international courts for their gross violations of human rights.

Last year, Diego Arria set on an international tour to lobby international institutions and foreign governments to investigate and prosecute Hugo Chavez for his crimes against humanity in Venezuela. Mr. Arria then suffered persecution by the Hugo Chavez’s regime which in retaliation confiscated his private property in Venezuela.
