Diego Arria, an independent candidate for the President of Venezuela and one of the editors of our website, took part in the first televised presidential debate held at the Andrés Bello Catholic University this past Monday.

“I would like to be president because I know the consequences of a country living in fear,” said Arria in opening the debate. As El Universal reported: “The presidential hopefuls made promises to everybody, even for Chávez, as Arria said he would file a complaint against the Venezuelan president at the International Criminal Court (ICC) at The Hague for crimes committed “against so many good people.” Link
